” Recently one of the best decisions I’ve made is volunteering at the local non-profit community bike shop here in Austin, Texas. It has been a truly rewarding experience, teaching people who are just getting into riding how to dial in their own bikes. Seeing the Stoke on someone’s face when they realize that they are able to repair or replace their own bike is pretty gratifying for us both . . . *If you have a unique skill that you can teach another person that will empower them to be more confident at their task the stoke will multiply in scale exponentially for everyone involved “
In the past, a bad decision I commonly made, was pulling out my phone record a video when I was riding with my friends. Instead of being in the moment with everyone, I caught myself staring at the screen of my phone, trying to capture something that was probably better right in that window of time when it was happening. I’m not trying to say that I didn’t walk away with some incredible souvenirs. However, I did miss a lot of the little details going on around me that make the moment truly special. Not everything is meant to be recorded. Not every trick, or run, is meant to be shared with others. The beauty of a session is being present right when it is happening, while your friends are laughing. While your eyes are in amazement of what you are seeing. And while the fire inside you is raging. ” – Logan
