Visual treats from Lux BMX, Cody Pollard, Wilton Hedley, and Mike Vokenson!
“Cody has been blasting bowls ever since his early BMX days in North QLD, with a strong, aggressive style, masked with a huge grin, Pollard never looks like he’s having a bad time on his bike. In between a full-time job and searching the globe for bowls with the Fast and Loose Crew, Cody teamed up with long time friend and teammate Wilton Hedley along with resident filmer/rider Mike Vokenson. Together the three curated something that incorporated their friendship, the good times and big airs. Working hard for 3 years, taking some big falls and airing higher than everyone else Cody Pollard and Wilton Headly came through with a truly entraining watch from start to finish.”

“13 years ago I had the opportunity to ride the bike park of Whistler with a mountain bike, I had so much fun but I was thinking all the time - I wish I could ride this on my BMX… After that I started to work on it but I couldn’t finish it right and left it to the side… until now.” - Ruben Alcantara / Fingers Crossed BMX
Garrett sits down and talks suspension and much, much more with Joe Doherty for The BMX In Our Blood podcast. Thanks!
“Everything you want to know about Fingers Crossed is right here in this podcast! I was pretty excited to learn more about Ruben Alcantara and Garrett Byrnes’ newly released project. As of now Fingers Crossed is all about building your own fun, much like Steve Crandall would say! The basic premise is the amount of fun you can have riding a 20” BMX bike with suspension on any terrain. I’ll leave the interpretation of this project up to each of you. What I do know is that Ruben and Garrett have something really cool going on and I’m very psyched to see what direction this goes! Garrett and I definitely spend some time revisiting some of his last podcast with me (episode #38) as we talk about the impact and rejection of the stigma of self help. There is a bit of everything for you all in this one! So enjoy and learn more about Fingers Crossed BMX on @fingerscrossedbmx while it evolves week by week. As Darren Meenan said, if Ruben and Garrett are involved it is going to be good, and it is!”
29.7cm x 21cm of Joe at the Lost Bowl B&W. This is one of the prints up for auction on March 7th at the Blood Brothers Block Party Fundraiser. The fundraiser is to help raise money for the Haematology Department at Perth Children’s Hospital in Australia. 100% of the profits will be donated. There’ll be auctions, raffles, photo exhibitions, good times, more good times, and even more good times. Hit up the Local BMX and Blood Brothers Instagrams for more info. Last time they raised a total of $12,000 AUD for the Heamatology and Oncology ward which has made a huge impact on its patients there. Please give generously and support this very worthy cause.
